Small, metal, typically cylindrical coils with white cotton in the centre. Since an e-cigarette is essentially useless without a coil, we view coils as the brains of the device. Once activated by your mod, coils inside your pod or tank vapourize your e-liquid and produce vapour. They are also the only component of your vapourizer with a short lifespan (a few days to a few weeks), as they eventually lose their ability to vapourize effectively or burn. Each e-cigarette manufacturer will have their own coils, therefore it's vital to read the description of your vaping equipment to determine which coils to buy.
Built in or replaceable coils
A pod or tank may have coils built in, which typically renders the pods or tanks disposable. This implies that you must replace the entire pod or tank with a new pod or tank when your coil ceases to function properly. Throwaway pods are used in many pod vape kits, which some vapers prefer since they are more convenient than disposable tanks. If a pod kit features interchangeable coil pods or disposable pods, it will be noted in the description.
Coil types
The typical classification of coil types includes resistance (measured in ohms) and wattage range (as well as core type, such as ceramic, mesh, etc., but that's a topic for another blog). The type of coil you use affects your vaping style, e-liquid flavour, cloud size, and vapour temperature. For instance, a coil with a lower resistance (like 0.2 ohm) will generate warmer vapour, big clouds of vapour, and fantastic flavour from your e-liquid, and it will work better with a tank or pod that has a large airflow opening.
Rebuildable coils are another option, but if you're new to vaping, these are not the coils for you since they need advanced vaping equipment and understanding of Ohm's Law.
